Curriculum
The Abridge Academy curriculum is continually expanding. Currently, we have over 500 lessons in total (including the core curriculum courses and specialist courses). We are adding new lessons every week, so there will always be plenty of content to keep your students happy!
Our resources are designed for young learners to teens, with lots of fun games and interactive activities to keep children engaged. In particular, the core curriculum is aimed at children aged 5-12, whereas some specialist courses suit a wider age range.
We use the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR) levels and align our curriculum with the Cambridge English exams.
Our step-by-step curriculum currently focuses on the beginner to pre-intermediate levels (levels A1-A2), up to the Cambridge A2 for Schools (KET) exam. Our specialist courses cover all CEFR levels, including resources for more advanced students.
The Abridge Academy online ESL curriculum resources are designed for both one-on-one and small group classes (typically up to six students). This includes the games and activities.
You may also find most resources still work well for larger class sizes, however it may be challenging from a class management perspective if you wish for learners to use the interactive tools.
The Abridge Academy curriculum is primarily designed with online teaching in mind, taking advantage of interactive EdTech tools to make learning more engaging in an online environment.
However, many teachers do use our materials in brick-and-mortar teaching environments too. Interactive resources can still be loaded on iPads or SmartBoards in the classroom, and printable student workbooks are available.
A step-by-step online ESL curriculum such as the Abridge Academy curriculum has been designed by experts to guide your students through learning English in a well-structured way. Our lessons follow a logical order, gradually introduce and reinforce new vocabulary/ grammar, and include directed review activities. Additionally, unlike a textbook or worksheets, our resources are designed specifically for online teaching – with full interactivity and optimised for screen sharing (including on mobile devices).
Technology
These resources are suitable for any online teaching platform which allows screen sharing or co-browsing. In particular, we have tested the resources on Zoom, Zhumu, Voov (Tencent Meeting), ClassIn, DingTalk, Koala Go, and Surfly.
Note that some of these platforms do not allow two-way interaction (as required for your students to be able to directly engage with the games/ activities). The resources do still work very well simply with you moving the elements on the slides on their behalf, but for younger learners who enjoy playing with the slides we would particularly recommend Koala Go.
Our resources are fully compatible with computers, tablets, and mobile devices, from the teacher’s end. This means that you can teach from any device, from anywhere! However, do be aware that some online teaching software is not fully compatible with mobile devices and for the best experience you may wish to use a desktop computer or laptop.
Please be aware that, due to the interactive elements, you cannot download Abridge Academy’s lesson slides to your computer to re-upload to your online classroom software. The lessons must be opened in your teaching platform’s browser or via screen sharing.
Supplementary resources such as student homework workbooks and flashcards are available in PDF formats, which can easily be downloaded, uploaded to your homework or virtual whiteboard system, and shared with students via email.
Pricing
Yes! Select the “free tier” option above, which provides you with free access to a limited selection of lessons across different courses and levels. This is a great way to browse the resources and try them out with your students before committing to a paid subscription.
For your convenience, your subscription will automatically renew each month. If you wish to cancel your subscription, simply log into your account and cancel anytime.
If you are not satisfied with the Abridge Academy curriculum or it simply doesn’t meet your needs, no problem! We have a 14-day no-questions-asked refund guarantee. Simply reach out via the contact form or email to request a refund.
Please note that this refund guarantee only applies to your first month’s membership payment. We are unable to refund multiple months of membership.
Definitely not! We don’t believe in sneaking price increases on teachers – once you’ve subscribed, you lock in that subscription price for life (excluding any special first month discounts or the like, which will be clearly indicated on the checkout page). As long as you keep your subscription active, your price will not increase.
If there is an error processing your monthly subscription payment, for example due to your card expiring, please be aware that you will lose access to the resources until the fee has been paid. You will be sent an email letting you know about the issue, with a link to update your payment details within your account. The website will automatically re-attempt the payment within a few days.
During the checkout process, you can choose between PayPal and card payments. Our card processor (Stripe) may also offer additional payment method options relevant to your location, such as Apple Pay.
By default, Abridge Academy pricing is set in US dollars (USD). At checkout, if you opt to pay by card, you may be presented with the option to pay in your local currency if you wish. Please note however that the exact amount in your local currency may vary each month due to currency fluctuations, whereas the USD price is fixed.

Group accounts are intended for schools wanting to purchase curriculum memberships on behalf of multiple teachers in a team.
Absolutely not. Abridge Academy welcomes schools, tutoring agencies, community organisations, and any other teams needing to manage multiple teachers’ accounts.
Please select the “group” plan. On the checkout page, select the number of teacher accounts required. Note that the fee charged will reflect the admin user account plus all additional teachers in your team (for example, one admin + five teachers = six user accounts).
After purchase, you can then assign these accounts to your teachers. Each teacher in your team will be sent a link to create their own login to access resources.

Absolutely – you have total flexibility to add and remove teachers any time.
Adding teachers:
The group membership requires you to purchase a set number of “seats” in your teaching team. After purchase, you can add teachers to your group membership (to claim these “seats”) within your admin dashboard.
Removing teachers:
If a teacher later leaves your teaching team, you can also easily remove them from your group within this same dashboard. This then opens up that pre-purchased “seat” to be reassigned to another teacher. Please note that if you do not reassign the “seat”, the empty seat will still be charged in your recurring membership payments.
Changing the number of teachers:
If you would like to change the number of seats you are paying for, you can also do this within your admin dashboard. The system will simply require you to go through the checkout process again to re-authorise payments at the new amount.
Permissions
Yes! Unlike the majority of educational resources companies (who do not allow for-profit use), our subscriptions come with a commercial licence as standard. There are also no restrictions on the number of students you can teach. You are welcome to use the Abridge Academy online ESL curriculum resources for teaching live classes through your independent online teaching business. You can also use the curriculum content in your marketing or class descriptions.
Yes! Our resources come with a commercial licence as standard. You can teach live classes with any company, and can use these resources in your marketing materials if you wish. Some platforms may ask to see proof that you have permission to use the teaching resources, please contact us if you need assistance.
We do not require you to credit Abridge Academy in your class listings/ marketing. However, if you do wish to reassure learners that they will be following a formal, trusted curriculum, you may state that you are “using the Abridge Academy curriculum”. Note that we do not endorse teachers and you may not use terms such as “partner” in order to avoid misleading learners.
As per our T&Cs, teachers cannot share accounts. If you are a school or tutoring agency with multiple teachers, each user will need a separate login. Their memberships can be managed from a central school admin account using our “school plan” subscription option.
