As part of our commitment to making teaching abroad affordable for all, we offer a high level of funding to cover everything from your TEFL course fees to flight tickets! See below for details on the different scholarships available.
Affordable
With low or no program fees, our courses and programs are priced with students and gap year travellers in mind!
Funded
Most of our in-country programs provide full funding for your main travel costs - including free flight tickets!

TEFL Scholarships
To support our TEFL learners, particularly those keen to gain additional teaching experience, we offer full TEFL scholarships refunding your course fees if you join us on the associated in-person program at a later date!
With no additional application required and unlimited scholarships available, this is one of our most popular scholarship opportunities!
Requirements:
- Successfully complete an eligible online TEFL course
- Later participate in the associated in-person program
- Contribute one media activity such as a blog post, social media feature or external article
Travel Funding
Our in-person summer camp and homestay programs offer a high level of travel funding as standard, covering many of your essential costs. This funding comes from the generous support of partner schools and host families to encourage the very best candidates to apply.

Travel grants typically cover:
- Return flight tickets between your home country and the program city
- An allowance for living costs such as meals and transport
- Three days free accommodation in a city of your choice after completion of the program
Teacher Scholarships
Incoming participants to our in-country programs who are trainee, in-service or qualified teachers will be invited to apply for our teacher scholarships! This awards a £50 grant to all eligible participants who are also willing to complete one media activity (which could be as simple as writing a blog post, social media feature / takeover).
Eligible training programs include (but are by no means limited to):
- PGCE, SCITT, Schools Direct and Teach First trainees in the UK
- BA Primary Education students or those on similar courses awarding QTS status
- In-service teachers who hold a recognised teaching qualification/ qualified teacher status
Media Diversity Scholarships
Incoming participants to our in-country programs will be invited to apply for our media scholarships, offering a £50 grant in return for your support with promotional activities. This could be anything from instagram takeovers to writing blog posts or filming vlogs! For this scholarship, we prioritise applicants from low income or ethnic minority backgrounds as part of our commitment to widening participation.
Requirements:
- Incoming participant for the summer camp or homestay program
- Contribute at least five media activities, such as social media posts/ takeovers, filming vlogs, writing blog posts, etc.

Priority will be given to those who:
- Are UK students eligible for the maximum student loan allowance from SLC
- Are in receipt of a bursary from your university or college based upon your financial background
- Identify as coming from an under-represented ethnic background
- Are a care leaver, former young carer or have caring responsibilities
- Entered the UK as a refugee
Abridge Ambassadors
Program participants and alumni are invited to join our team of Abridge Ambassadors – earn rewards for recommending our courses and programs to friends and classmates!
Requirements:
- Current participant or alumni of any Abridge Academy course or program
- Write a testimonial or review of your experiences
- Keen to promote our opportunities more widely to friends, classmates or social media followers
